►The communal house:
The Ta Oi communal house has similar features with the communal house of Trieng Group of Gie Trieng ethnic group, is the unique architecture with the distinguished features. The Ta Oi communal house has two wings and floor to enjoy the wind, chat and play etc.
In the Ta Oi communal house, two wings are connected with the semicircle wing pillar so the ladder is at the square angle with the main pillar of the house. The communal house has two doors at two gabbles and many windows at the longitudinal pillars.
► Houses:
Previously, Ta Oi House is long and designed for a big family. Nowadays, Ta Oi house is short stilt house for small family. The structure and space of short stilt houses are quite simple. The house architecture of Ta Oi people has many similar features with the communal house.
The Ta Oi house is the stilt house with the round roof and low floor (about 0.8m -1m), and two ladders at two ends. The main ladder is at the guest reception and common activity space on the left, the auxiliary ladder is on the left of kitchen. The ladder is chipped from a big trunk or consists of two wood bars holed to mount the cross bars as the stairs.
Ta Oi house roof has great slope and is mainly covered with thatches, the side roof is made of bamboo. In addition to two doors at two gables, they also arrange windows on the remaining pillar of the house. At two roof corner’s peaks, they decorate with two small wooden statues of spotted dove head called “curtailed phase”.
► The boat station:
Because of geological features, the life of Ta Oi people is linked to the boat station. Actually, Ta Oi people are familiar with float made of bamboo. The boat station and float are connected with their history. The boat station is placed at the village gate. The water is pumped in circulation to the higher points on the mountain side and then driven back to the water station.
